Three former Southern Oregon football players have been named to the NAIA All-Decade Team as announced by College Fanz Sports Network.

Running back Dusty McGrorty was selected to the First Team, while defensive back Nick Daniken and punter Steve Baker earned Second Team honors.

Southern Oregon’s Jordan Myers has been named to the 2009 American Football Coaches Association NAIA All-American team, the AFCA announced today.

Myers was a four-year starter for the Raiders at left tackle, making 37 straight starts and playing every snap of the last two years.

Brandon Baldwin was voted the NAIA All-Independent Offensive Player of the Year.

Sophomore Brandon Baldwin led a group of 11 Southern Oregon football players named to the NAIA's All-Independent team.

Baldwin was named the All-Independent Offensive Player of the Year and joined offensive linemen Trent Henson and Buddy Tuamasaga, defensive lineman Sunni Ali and defensive back Damilyn Tanner on the All-Independent First Team. Fullback Brent Koontz, offensive lineman Jordan Myers, defensive lineman Will Watson, defensive back Thomas Sandoval, kicker Tyler Crowley and returner Vance Beach were all named All-Independent Second Team.

Southern Oregon senior offensive lineman Buddy Tuamasaga has been selected to play in the annual East Coast Bowl.

The Bowl is an all-star game that features the most elite NCAA Division I-FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA college players. The game will be played Saturday at Cameron Field in Petersburg, Va., and is sponsored by the City of Petersburg and the National Football Foundation.

Southern Oregon jumped out to a 17-3 lead before NCAA Division I North Dakota staged an impressive come back to score a 30-24 victory today in Grand Forks, N.D.

North Dakota improved to 5-4 overall. Southern Oregon, an NAIA school, finishes the season 2-7 overall.

Southern Oregon sophomore running back Brandon Baldwin went over 1,000 yards for the year, but that was the only offensive highlight as Mary Hardin-Baylor scored a 21-0 victory over the Raiders today in Belton, Texas.

Mary Hardin-Baylor, ranked eighth in the NCAA Division III poll, improved to 6-1 overall. Southern Oregon fell to 2-6 overall and travels to NCAA Division I North Dakota on Nov. 7.

Last year the Southern Oregon football team jumped out early and never looked back as they shocked NCAA Division III third-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor in Ashland.

Southern Oregon will be looking to do the same thing, this time to eighth-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor and this time in Belton, Texas.

The Raiders (2-5) and Crusaders (5-1) are slated to kickoff at 1 p.m. (CST) Saturday.

Humboldt State came away with three interceptions and held the Southern Oregon offense to 241 yards as they came away with a 34-3 victory tonight at the Redwood Bowl in Arcata, Calif.

Humboldt State improved to 4-3 overall. Southern Oregon dropped to 2-5 on the season.
