The Southern Oregon women's soccer team scored its first win of the 2010 season with a 1-0 victory over William Jessup today in Roseville, Calif.

The Raiders are now 1-1-1 and hosts Linfield in the home opener Sunday at 4 p.m.

Freshman Keanae Loera scored the game winner for the Raiders, with a header off a free kick at the 87 minute mark.

The Southern Oregon and Holy Names women's soccer teams battled to a 0-0 tie this evening in Dublin, Calif.

The Raiders are now 0-1-1 on the season and travels to William Jessup Tuesday afternoon.

"Our defending was pretty good and we had some good chances," SOU head coach Jon Clement said. "It was a game that you'd hope you would win, but it's a step in the right direction."

The Southern Oregon women's soccer team saw a first half lead disappear and ended up falling to Concordia-Irvine 4-2 today in Portland.

Concordia-Irvine improved to 1-1 on the season and SOU fell to 0-1. The Raiders head to the Bay Area to face Holy Names and William Jessup next weekend.

The Southern Oregon women's soccer team opens up the 2010 season Sunday afternoon when they face Concordia-Irvine in Portland.

Sunday's match is slated to start at Noon.

The Raiders are coming off a 7-8-2 overall record and a 5-3-1 conference mark and are wrapping up two weeks of Fall camp.

The Southern Oregon women's soccer team has been picked to finish fourth in the annual Cascade Conference Preseason Poll.

Concordia, the winners of the last nine conference titles, was the unanimous pick to win the crown again. College of Idaho is picked to finish second, followed by Corban and SOU.

The 2010 edition of the Southern Oregon women's soccer program opened Fall camp this morning with a program-best 26 players on the roster.

The Raiders will practice this week and then take part in a scrimmage on Sunday.

SOU returns All-Cascade Conference players Jessica Kuehlwein and Denise Powell from last year's team that finished 7-8-2 overall, but an impressive 6-3-1 in Cascade Conference play.

Southern Oregon women’s soccer coach Jon Clement announced today the signing of 12 players to join the Raiders in the Fall.

The group will included 11 freshmen and one transfer back to the SOU program.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this group to campus and our program,” Clement said. “They’re all very good people and accomplished players who work their tails off. They’ve been well coached at some of the best clubs in the country and they’ve excelled and won at many of the most demanding showcase events-experience that will help them all jump right into the college game. And as we basically return our whole team we’re very excited about the increased competitiveness that should be a part of our training this fall.”

Southern Oregon women's soccer coach Jon Clement announced today that former NCAA Division I soccer player Stephanie Pogue has joined the SOU coaching staff.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Steph to our staff," Clement said. "She's got great coaching energy and ideas and has played at a very high level and wants badly for our program to excel. I'm certainly looking forward to her contributions as well as what we all might learn from her on the field."

Southern Oregon sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Kuehlwein and the Raider women's soccer team have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American.

Kuehlwein was named to the NSCAA NAIA All-West Region team and the Raiders named a Team Academic Award Winner.
