The Southern Oregon men's cross country finished second behind NCAA Division I Oregon today at the Mike Hodges Invitational in Clackamas.
Oregon won the team event with a perfect 15 points, SOU finished second with 59 and Willamette finished third with 87. The Raiders finished ahead of D-I schools Portland (4th, 95) and Portland State (7th, 216).
Senior
Cameron Kreuz (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) was the top finisher for the Raiders, finishing seventh by finishing the four mile run in 20:08.
Anthony Monteleone (Eugene, Ore./Willamette) finished ninth in 20:12 and
David Laney (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) finished 13th in 20:18.
Joe Rath (Winnetkia, Ore./Crespi) and Ryan Gelfi were the other two Raiders to earn points. Rath finished 16th in 20:25 and Gelfi finished 24th in 20:46.
On the women's side, senior
Katelyn Alley (Culver, Ore./Culver) - racing in her first race of the season for the Raiders - finished 59th in 19:41.
Kristen Juveland (Central Point, Ore./Crater) finished 75th in 20:22 and Natalie Wilson finished 121st in 24:02.
