Sophomore Jessica Kuehlwein (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) led a group of four Southern Oregon women's soccer players that earned All-Cascade Conference honors this year.

Kuehlwein, Auika Muragin (Koloa, Hawaii/Kauai), Denise Powell (Grants Pass, Ore./Hidden Valley) and Alexis Mahoney (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) each earned All-Conference honors.

Kuehlwein was a top-level goalkeeper for the Raiders this year and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Kuehlwein ranked third in the conference in save percentage (.803) and fourth in goal against average (1.06).

“We're all please for and proud of Jess,” SOU head coach Jon Clement said. “She's very deserving of recognition. She established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in Oregon during her high school career and has furthered that reputation in college. She leads well by example and is just flat out a good soccer player.”

Muragin, a junior, and Powell, a sophomore, earned Second Team accolades.

Muragin had one goal on eight shots on goal. Powell ranked fourth in the conference with seven goals.

“Auika's accomplishments are without question a product of her training, intensity and work-rate.” Clement said. “Other coaches recognize Denise as a dangerous attacking player. Her fitness level was high at the outset of the season and that allowed her to be fluid and consistent this year and of course she scored some important goals for us.”

Mahoney, a freshman, earned Honorable Mention honors. Mahoney had four goals and one assist on the season.

“Alex has potential like you read about,” Clement said. “There are times when she's an ever present danger on our front line, she just needs to work on being consistent. I'm certainly excited to see what she's able to do as her career moves along.”

SOU finished 7-8-2 overall and 6-3-1 in conference action.
