Southern Oregon head women's basketball coach Lynn Kennedy has signed his first recruit for the 2010-11 season.
Kennedy announced today that Nicole Mowbray has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Raiders after her senior year at Oak Harbor (Wash.) High School.
Mowbray, a 5-10 forward, averaged 10 points and seven rebounds last year as a junior and also carries a 3.5 grade point average.
"Nicole is an unbelievable student-athlete who plays with a lot of energy and passion," Kennedy said. "She has the ability to finish in the post, get by a defender on drives and can step outside and shoot. On the defensive end, Nicole has all the skills to be a lock-down defender. We are very excited about Nicole's future as a Raider."
Mowbray led Oak Harbor to a 15-9 record last year and a fourth place finish in the Class 4A District 1 playoffs.
Southern Oregon will graduate five seniors following the 2009-10 season.
