Senior Humphrey Jackson scored the last five points as the Southern Oregon men scored a 78-76 victory over Pacific Union today in Klamath Falls.
Southern Oregon improved to 3-1 overall on the season. The Raiders will play Bethany Saturday afternoon.
After a back-and-forth first half, Southern Oregon had a 59-51 lead with 10:35 to play, but Pacific Union began to chip away and took a 74-73 lead on a 3-pointer by Brandon Monty with 2:31 left in the game.
Jackson nailed a jumper to give SOU the lead back, but PUC answered with a bucket by Kameron Barnes for a 76-75 advantage.
Jackson again took things into his own hands, knocking down another jumper for a 77-76 lead. Jackson also added a free throw with 24 seconds left and Pacific Union missed a pair of shots down the stretch.
Jackson finished with 19 points and five assists. Roland Johnson and Trevor McCay both came off the bench for 13 points and Johnson added 10 rebounds. Armani Jackson and Justonn Smith both had 11 points for the Raiders.
Monty led Pacific Union with 17 points.
