Southern Oregon senior Jacki Speer went for 34 points as the 18th-ranked Raiders scored a 73-70 victory over Holy Names tonight in Oakland, Calif.

Southern Oregon is now 1-0 on the season and faces Cal Maritime Saturday afternoon. Holy Names, ranked just outside the Top 25 at No. 26, dropped to 1-1.

Speer recorded 34 points and 12 rebounds on the night. With the 34 points, the All-American moved ahead of Nicole Whitney for fifth all-time in SOU scoring.

Gabe Johnson finished with 13 points and Emily Brookins had 10 points and eight rebounds.

SOU shot 41 percent for the game and out-rebounded the hosts 44-40.
