The Southern Oregon women will open the 2010 Cascade Conference Postseason Tournament on the road Tuesday night with a return trip to Warner Pacific.
The Raiders (19-10), the No. 7 seed, and the Knights (18-9), the No. 2 seed, will tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
Warner Pacific swept the season series for the Raiders, including a 79-58 victory Friday night in Portland.
“They are shooting the ball really well right now,” SOU head coach
Lynn Kennedy said. “They are talented and have a senior group that is playing really well.”
The Knights shot 57 percent in the victory Friday night and shot 70 percent in the second half.
Southern Oregon rebounded from Friday's setback to knock off Concordia on Saturday and claim the seventh seed.
In the victory over Concordia, senior
Jacki Speer (Centralia, Wash./Centralia) went for 27 points, while junior
Jamie Roupp (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) did a little of everything for the Raiders.
Roupp finished with just four points, but had nine assists, nine rebounds and two steals and only committed three turnovers.
“I think we are playing with some confidence right now,” Kennedy said. “We need to keep from turning the ball over and keep shooting the ball above 40 percent. If we can do that, we can be successful.”
