Friloux Leads Black Team To Victory

Marshawn Friloux (Bellflower, Calif./Bellflower)'s early touchdown sparked the Black team to a 20-7 victory over the White team during tonight's annual Spring Football Game at Raider Stadium.

Friloux took the second play from scrimmage 58 yards up the middle to give the Black team a quick 7-0 lead.

Both teams struggled offensively through the rest of the first half with the Black team scoring on defense as Dayne Mendes (Hilmar, Calif./Hilmar) returned a Mike McDonald (Burbank, Calif./Burbank) pass 26 yards to make the score 13-0.

Black scored again in the third quarter, taking advantage of a blocked punt by Josh McOmber (Anderson, Calif./West Valley) with a three-yard run by Mike Springer for a 20-0 lead.

The White team got on the board to start the fourth quarter as Cody Peebles (Oakley, Calif./Freedom) blocked a punt and JT Sorensen fell on it for a touchdown and cut the lead to 20-7.

Defensively for the White team, Sam Latham (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) had three pass breakups, while Nate Langi and Kala Haasenritter (Hilo, Hawaii/Hilo) both had sacks and Travis Burton (Sacramento, Calif./John F. Kennedy) had an interception.

For the Black team, Glen Finch (Livermore, Calif. /Livermore) and Jarrod Moroni (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) both had sacks and Mendes and McComber both had fumble recoveries.

Friloux had 88 yards rushing to take home game-high honors.
