North Medford's Robert Ross signed a National Letter of Intent today to wrestle at Southern Oregon.
"We are really excited to get Robert," SOU head coach
Mike Ritchey said. "He is an outstanding athlete for a big man and the top heavyweight prospect in the state this year."
Ross wrestled for SOU alum Nolan Harris at North Medford and was a two-time placer at the State Championships. This past season Ross was a state finalist.
Ross was also a member of the North Medford football team, playing for SOU alum Jeff Olson.
"We feel Robert will have a very promising career at SOU and will be a great addition to our tradition of strong heavyweights," Ritchey said.
Ross will major in criminal justice and had a 3.3 GPA at North Medford.
Southern Oregon is coming off back-to-back second place finishes at the NAIA National Championships.
