Raiders Put Up Big Numbers In Sweep

The 13th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team put up some big numbers in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 sweep of Concordia tonight in Portland.

The Raiders are now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in Cascade Conference play with a home dates against Eastern Oregon and 16th-ranked College of Idaho on deck for next weekend.

Junior Sarah Holgen turned in a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. Junior middle blocker Megan Bartling finished with 10 kills and no errors for a .556 attack percentage and also had five blocks. As a team, SOU came away with 15 blocks.

All-American senior setter Lindsey Stone turned in 41 assists and Leanne Stennett and Renee Yomtob both had 14 digs.

Concordia looked poised for comeback against the Raiders in the third set, lead from the start and holding a 17-14 advantage before SOU went on a 6-0 run to take a 20-17 lead and never looked back.

Raluca Dinca and Erika Doremus both had 10 kills for Concordia.
