MEET RESULTS

NAMPA, Idaho – Two Southern Oregon athletes posted NAIA 'A' national qualifying marks to highlight the Raiders' indoor track and field competition Saturday at the Boise State Bronco Classic.

Sullivan Stevens (Sparks, Nev./Spanish Springs) finished the 60-meter hurdles in 8.2 seconds to place third and hit the automatic qualifying mark exactly, and Max Perry (Florence, Ore./Siuslaw) beat the automatic qualifying mark by over a meter in the shot put to post a second-place throw of 55-3 (16.84 meters). Only NCAA Div. I Boise State's Will Lohman posted a better distance than Perry. Perry's mark is the third-best in the NAIA this season.

Stevens also placed among the top 10 in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 7.06 that was good for seventh place. Nick Perrino (Reno, Nev./McQueen) ran the 400-meter dash in 50.35 seconds to place seventh, and Brandon Ritchie (Grants Pass, Ore./Grants Pass) finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 20-11 3/4.

Michael Ruppert (Winston, Ore./Douglas) finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 46-7 1/2 and Perry added a fifth-place finish in the weight throw, posting a distance of 53-3 3/4.

The Raiders will return to action with their second indoor meet of the 2012 season on Feb. 18, when they will travel to Moscow, Idaho, for the Univ. of Idaho Vandal Collegiate.
