POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. --
Establishing yet another first in program history, the Southern Oregon men's basketball team placed two players on the NAIA All-America squad as both Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) and David Sturner (Philomath, Ore./Philomath) received honorable mention recognition.

Thompson's honorable mention nod is his second in two seasons at SOU, joining Shea Washington as the only two-time All-Americans in team history. Sturner becomes the fifth Raider to receive All-America honors and gives SOU four All-American honors in the past three seasons.

The duo helped lead Southern Oregon to a school-record 25 wins in 2012-13 and only the fourth appearance at  the NAIA Div. II National Tournament in program history. Sturner finished the season with 326 rebounds, the third-highest total in NAIA Div. II, and his 9.3 rebounds per game ranked 11th. Sturner's 326 total rebounds were the third-highest single-season total in team history.

Thompson continued his record-breaking SOU career in his second season with the team. After setting a freshman scoring record last year with 587 points, Thompson tallied 577 points this season to join Washington as the only two-time 500-point scorers in team history. Through only two seasons, Thompson's 1,164 career points rank 12th in team history.

Keith Wade became SOU's first NAIA All-American when he received third-team honors following the 1950-51 season. More than 50 years later Washington became the program's second All-American, earning second-team recognition in 2003-04 before taking first-team honors in each of the next two seasons. Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) earned honorable mention recognition in 2010-11 before Thompson claimed the honor last season.
