ASHLAND Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset) of the Southern Oregon University softball team and Jessie Rozario (Rocklin, Calif./Del Oro) of the Raider track and field team have earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete status for the spring, the national office announced this week.

To become eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 and at least junior academic status.

Eric Ghelfi (Redding, Calif./Redding Adventist Academy), Rebecca Lupescu (Portland, Ore./Westview) and Alexandra Rudd (North Bend, Wash./Mount Si) of the SOU track and field team were also eligible, but already earned the award during the fall while competing in cross country.

Anderson is a repeat honoree and was previously named a member of the Academic All-District 4 softball team.

In all, 17 Raiders were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes during the 2013-14 school year.
