ROCKLIN, Calif. – The 15th-ranked Southern Oregon women's wrestling team went 2-1 Friday on dual day of the West Coast Tournament of Champions, picking up its first victories of the season after a four-week break.

The Raiders started with a 40-7 loss to No. 6 Emmanuel College (Mass.), in which Nevina DeLuca accounted for their lone win with a pin of Trinity Duarte at 123 pounds. They finished the day, however, by defeating No. 13 Eastern Oregon, 33-11, and No. 8 Grays Harbor Community College (Wash.), 22-6.

Olivia Ioppolo (116 pounds), Alejandra Rodriguez (130) and Latiana Tauaese (191) each won by fall in 41 seconds or less against the Mountaineers, to whom the Raiders had lost earlier this season, 27-21. Nikki Mae Sumagang added a win by decision at 109 pounds, and the Raiders benefited from three EOU forfeits.

Six weight classes were contested in the Grays Harbor dual and SOU won five of them. Ioppolo started it with another pin, taking down her opponent in just 15 seconds. DeLuca followed with an 11-2 win by decision, Rodriguez tacked on her second pin of the day, Kirra Saunders (136) won by decision and Sienna Ramirez (143) finished the perfect start with a 22-second pin. Following four double-forfeits, Nina Pham collected Grays Harbor's only win by technical fall at 109 pounds.

The Raiders improved their dual record to 2-4. They'll remain at the West Coast T.O.C. on Saturday for individual tournament action.
