ASHLAND – For the second time this season, Southern Oregon University guard Ben DeSaulnier has been voted the Cascade Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

DeSaulnier scored 41 points on just 22 shots over the weekend, which included Saturday's 84-71 win over Eastern Oregon and Sunday's 100-93 defeat of No. 7 College of Idaho in the Raiders' Cascade Conference openers.

The 6-foot-3 senior from Philomath accumulated 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks against EOU, going 9-of-14 from the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range. He followed that up with a 19-point, four-rebound performance against the Yotes, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and hitting all three of his 3-point tries.

Among all CCC players, DeSaulnier – a two-time all-conference selection – currently ranks second in points per game (19.2), seventh in steals (1.7), seventh in 3-point percentage (47.6), 13th in field-goal percentage (55.0), 14th in assists (2.9) and 15th in free-throw percentage (81.6).

SOU, ranked 13th with a 7-3 record, is off until Cascade Conference games on Dec. 15 at 16 at Northwest (Wash.) and The Evergreen State (Wash.).
