Biography
2017 Outdoor Track: Finished 11th in the 10K at the Cascade Conference Championships with a time of 41:39.70… Posted her top 10K time, 41:38.20, at the Boyman Memorial Invitational… Recorded season bests of 19:41.35 in the 5K at the Sacramento State Hornet Invite; 5:20.63 in the 1,500 at the Chico State Wildcat Invite; and 2:46.08 in the 800, also at Chico State.
2016 Cross Country: Earned her top placing of the season, 32nd of 69, with a 5K time of 19:33.7 at the William Jessup Warrior Invitational… Placed 41st of 72 with a 6K time of 24:55 at the Lewis & Clark Invite.
Prior to SOU: Spent her freshman and sophomore years (2014-16) at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif… Posted personal bests of 5:17.60 in the 1,500 meters, 19:27.41 in the 5K and 41:09.36 in the 10K… Placed 11th in the 10K at the California State Championships as a sophomore, and was 10th in the 5K at the So Cal Championships… At the South Coast Conference Championships, placed second in the 5K, fourth in the 10K and third at the cross country championship meet.
High School: A 2014 graduate of Downey High, where she specialized in the one- and two-mile races and helped her track and field team to two San Gabriel Valley League titles and her cross country team to another.
Personal: Born on March 28, 1996 in Downey, Calif… The daughter of Maricela Padilla and Stephen Perea… Majoring in criminal justice.
