Prior to SOU: Attended and competed at Portland State University from 2013-17, attaining a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice with a minor in psychology… Appeared in every season except 2014-15, which she redshirted due to injury… Totaled 133 points, 48 assists and 35 steals in 52 games played for the Vikings, and as a senior had a season-high six points against Oregon on Dec. 17, 2016.

High School: Graduated in 2013 from South Medford High, where she was a three-time all-conference selection… Earned all-state honorable mention as a senior after leading the Panthers to the OSAA 6A title game… As a junior, was a second-team all-state performer after helping the Panthers to an undefeated record and a state championship, and was the state title game’s Player of the Game… Earned back-to-back High School All-Star Game MVP awards.

Personal: Born Yaremi Mejia on Jan. 27, 1994 in Jaleaca de Catalán, Guerrero, Mexico… The daughter of Pedro Mejia and Julia Hernandez… Has two brothers, Oscar and Jose Manuel; and four sisters, Yesenia, Maria, Marabeli and Nancy… Currently enrolled in SOU’s interdisciplinary studies master’s program.
