This money will upgrade the main gymnasium and create an endowed scholarship for future wrestling coaches and teachers in Coach Riehm&rsquo;s name. 

Prior to going public with this project, we already secured nearly $30,000 in pledges and donations. The 50th place finish is out of 195 NAIA athletic departments that scored points at NAIA National Championships. 

The Learfield Sports Directors&rsquo; Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Wrestling coach Bob Riehm, multi-sport coach and administrator Dr. Sally Jones, track and field and cross country coach and athletic director Monty Cartwright, football standout Griff Yates and track and field star Theresa Walton have been chosen as the 17th edition of the SOU Sports Hall of Fame.

In presenting the award, SOU President Mary Cullinan cited Schweiger's support of youth-related activities, assistance to the underprivileged and to nonprofit organizations, and his longtime commitment to the Raiders, SOU and the Southern Oregon community. The drive is called &quot;Can-It For Haiti&quot; and members of the SOU athletic teams will going door-to-door in Ashland asking for any spare cans or bottles. Individuals will be stationed at McNeal Pavilion during that time as well for people to drop off any cans or bottles they may have.

While nominations are accepted year-round, the deadline for consideration for the 2010 class is May 1. 

The SOU Sports Hall of Fame is open to former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and friends of Raider Athletics. To be eligible, the nominee must be at least five years removed from SOU.
